Editor's Review
Surplus City in Oroville, CA, emerges as a beloved treasure trove for both military enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers. With over 30 years in business, this store stands out as the largest military surplus facility on the West Coast. Customer reviews frequently highlight the friendly atmosphere and exceptional service. Trisha Ramick emphasized, 'Alex the gun/pawn guy is AMAZING!! He always has a smile for me and knows me by name.' This sentiment is echoed by many who appreciate the personal touch and welcoming vibe of the staff.
Additionally, the diverse range of inventory draws in visitors looking for unique items. As one review points out, 'You can spend hours looking around in this place! Lots of hidden treasures!' It's clear that both military surplus and camping equipment are strong suits, making Surplus City a one-stop shop for those preparing for outdoor escapades. However, while the overall customer sentiment is positive, a few reviews indicate areas for improvement. For instance, Tim Roberson noted a frustrating experience regarding communication about shipping containers, saying, 'a container is a container.' This reflects a potential inconsistency in customer service that the store might want to address. Overall, Surplus City serves as a unique blend of retail and museum experience, making it a worthwhile stop for both locals and tourists.

This place is awesome! Glad to see it open. Very friendly staff, make you feel welcome. Get a pair of socks and a matching set of sidewinder missiles. They have a museum, or rather the whole place is a museum....worth the time to pop in alone.
