Editor's Review
Save A Lot in Spencer, TN, offers a mixed bag for shoppers. On one hand, it’s praised for its cleanliness and friendly staff. Anthony noted, 'Staff always very helpful and friendly,' which seems to be a common sentiment. The store is rarely crowded, making it a convenient stop for those in the area. However, not all reviews are glowing. Tom had some harsh words for the rising prices, stating that 'the prices at Save A Lot these days are outrageous.' It seems that the store brands are often priced the same as name brands found elsewhere, raising eyebrows among budget-conscious shoppers.
While some customers, like Leslie Reeder III, were pleasantly surprised by the selection for a rural location, others felt let down. Stock issues are a recurring theme. Basic items frequently run out, and freezer malfunctions are mentioned too. Paul Stone summarized the store as 'Basic, simple and what I would expect from a roadside discount grocer,' which, while accurate, may not inspire confidence among potential shoppers.

Staff always very helpful and friendly. Rarely "crowded," & always clean inside and parking lot. Usually the milk is a better deal than "Wally-Wurld."
Nice grocery store that serves a small community.
Actually surprised me the selection the store provided for being virtually in the middle of nowhere. Staying in a cabin nearby, it provided items that we were unable to pick up at the smaller general stores. It is a good resource for the area.
It is what it is. Basic, simple and what I would expect from a roadside discount grocer. Two cashiers (friendly as possible) but only one conveyor belt worked. Stocked with clean food. Odd amount od Easter snacks and candy out and available in July.
