Editor's Review

Grocery Outlet in Evansville, IN, has garnered a 3.8/5 rating based on 587 reviews, indicating a mix of satisfaction and disappointment among customers. While the store is family-owned since 1992 and accepts EBT/SNAP, the consensus reveals notable strengths and weaknesses. A recurring theme in reviews is the inconsistency in pricing; as one customer mentioned, 'the prices weren’t that low, nicer places to shop in the area for the same cost' (Sarah Hartman, 3/5). There are positive remarks about the reduced section, where many shoppers find significant discounts, with one stating, 'Not just little .50 cents off here or there, most items are half of their original price or more!' (cool boy, 4/5).

However, quality issues persist, particularly in the produce section. Multiple reviewers expressed frustration over expired items being restocked, raising questions about food safety. Cory Webster noted, 'I personally witnessed a customer return questionable chicken, and instead of discarding it, the manager simply re-wrapped it and returned it to the meat cooler,' reflecting a serious concern regarding the store's handling of perishable goods. This inconsistency may deter potential customers looking for reliable grocery options.

Best for: Budget-conscious shoppers looking for discounted grocery items.

Pretty much what you would expect from a grocery outlet. Though the shelves were stocked the prices weren’t that low, nicer places to shop in the area for the same cost.

Bought box of frozen sausage patties. They were not all the way frozen and brown. Pay ten bucks so I had the wife cooked them anyway. They were rubbery and tasted funny. I took one bite and spat it Out. Will not. Be going back for any reason.
